CAcert Assurances at LISA conference, San Diego, CA, USA 11 December 2012

The 26th Large Installation System Administration conference (aka. Lisa 2012) will be meeting Dec 9-14 in San Diego, CA, USA. We have held a CAcert Birds-of-a-Feather (BoF) session at several of these. The CAcert Assurance BoF at LISA 12 will be Tuesday evening December 11th. This session is open to the public. Full details are posted on the event page on the CACert Wiki:

We will start with a presentation to cover the basics. We will also discuss new policies and the changes that came out of the enhanced processes. We will have several assurers there to do initial assurances. Mutual assurances are encouraged for getting practice and for answering questions. And there is the added benefit of earning experience points.

Am Dienstag, 15. mai 2012 findet in FZI Forschungszentrum Informatik das nächste ATE statt.

• Was hast du auf dem CAP Formular hinzuzufügen, wenn du Minderjährige überprüfst ?
• Warum solltest du dir die 3 Buchstaben: R/L/O einprägen ?
• Wie verhälst du dich, wenn du ein fremdes Ausweis Dokument zum erste mal prüfst ?

Antworten auf diese und andere Fragen erhaltet ihr auf dem Assurer Training Event.
Bringt geeignete Lichtbildausweise für Assurances mit.

Ein zusätzlicher Hinweis für ehemalige Tverify/Thawte Leute:
Das ATE ist auch eine sehr gute Möglichkeit eure Assurance und Experience Punkte in die Reihe zu bekommen, bevor diese gestrichen werden.

Much has happened during recent years. The old way of orally-transmitted procedures has now gone, and our rules have been cast into formal policies. New procedures (e.g. the Assurer Challenge) and obligations (e.g. in the CAcert Community Agreement) have been approved.

Eine Woche darauf, am Montag 4. Oktober findet das ATE-Aachen Nachmittags zwischen 14 und 17 Uhr statt. Für die Abendveranstaltung haben sich leider nicht genügend Teilnehmer gemeldet, so das die Abendveranstaltung abgesagt werden muss.

Wir haben uns dazu entschlossen zwei ATE’s in Aachen anzubieten. Eine am Nachmittag, eine am Abend. Beide Veranstaltungen haben den gleichen Inhalt. So das jeder, der an dem Event teilnehmen möchte sich für die Nachmittag- oder Abendveranstaltung entscheiden kann.

Es hat sich viel getan im letzten Jahr. Eine ganze Reihe von bisher eher “mündlich überlieferten” Regeln wurden in Policies gegossen. Neue Prozeduren (z.B. die Assurer Challenge) und Verpflichtungen (z.B. in dem CAcert Community Agreement) wurden beschlossen. Die Assurer Training Events wollen versuchen, die ganzen Informationen unter’s Volk zu bringen:

– Was hast du auf dem CAP Formular hinzuzufügen, wenn du Minderjährige überprüfst ?
– Was sind die 2 wesentlichen Punkte der CCA die du einem Assuree vermitteln können sollst ?
– Unter welchen Umständen können z.Bsp. niederländische Rufnamen akzeptiert werden?

CAcert Assurer Training Event Göteborg

Much has happened during the past year. A list of up till now mostly “orally transmitted” rules have been cast in policies. New procedures (e.g. the Assurer Challenge) and obligations (e.g. in the CAcert Community Agreement) have been decided. The Assurer Training Events try to bring all this informations to “the people”:
– To what, does the CCA protect every CAcert-Community-Member and as such also you?
– Can you recount the 5 statements of the “Purpose of Assurance”?
– Can you at least recount 10 security marks of the Swedish passport?
Answers to these and following questions are given at the Assurer Training Events (ATE’s).
Participation in the events is free, Contributions are however appreciated.
